Heartland Bible College (HBC) admits students of any race, color, nation and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance, or any other school-administered programs.
What Kind of School is HBC†
Heartland Bible College is a Christian evangelical, non-denominational Bible college for training men and women called of God to: a) serve the local church, b) establish new churches, c) serve cross-culturally in missions, and d) develop ministry in the workplace. Please see our statement of faith.
What Proqram Does HBC Offer and How Lonq Will It Take Me to Complete It?
Heartland Bible College offers a one-year, 26 unit-trimester diploma in Christian Ministry. This September-through-June program consists of: a) core courses, b) weekend seminars, and c) a for- credit student ministry mentoring internship each trimester (Fall, Winter, Spring).
Who Can Apply for Admission to HBC?
Admission is open to men and women called and serving in a local church or in a Christian ministry.
What Educational Level is Required for Entrance†
Heartland Bible College requires a high school diploma or equivalency (GED) for entrance. Prior college level work, though not required, is helpful in light of the fact the level of instruction and learning hours are comparable to courses offered by an accredited Bible college.
How Many Hours a Week Will I Need to Give to Attend Class and Do the Homework†
Classes meet once a week for 3.5 hours and homework, including required reading, involves approximately about 4-6 hours each week. Weekend seminars are typically scheduled for Friday evening/saturdays and add to the class time. Also, since students are required to be involved in ministry in their local church or in a Christian ministry, there is an additional time investment for the ministry mentoring internship (for-credit students only) requiring a meeting twice a month for 2-3 hours each trimester with their ministry mentor.
Class Requirements
All homework is required to be typed by Students on a personal computer, using either MS Word software or Google Docs, formatted according to syllabi directions and submitted for grading in a PDF file via e-mail. Student attendance is required at all classes, including Friday/Saturday seminars. Absences will potentially affect the student's grades and ability to continue in the College program.
How Much Will It Cost Me to Attend HBC†
Fees and tuition are modest. The non-refundable application fee for admission is $25.00. Tuition is
$50 per unit, or $1250 for the 26-unit (one bonus class) Christian Ministry Certificate program, for- credit students. A married spouse receives a 10% reduction, which is applicable if enrollment takes place within one year of the enrollment of one spouse.
Audit students (non-credit) pay 50% of tuition cost, or $25 per unit. Purchase of the textbooks is not required, however, it is advised that Audit students participate in reading assignments for their own learning benefit and engage in class discussion. Audit-only Students do not participate in ministry mentoring internships.
Former students who have not completed the program pay no tuition fees for courses they have already successfully finished but must pay full tuition for classes not yet taken.
Additional expenses for required class books will vary depending on the distributor used (i.e., Amazon, ThriftBooks, etc.). The student is responsible for ordering their own books.
One-third of the total tuition is due at the time of registration for each trimester. The remaining amount is due throughout the trimester as agreed by the student and the school. All fees and tuition must be paid upon completion of the trimester. The deadline for a refund of tuition is the second week of each trimester upon written request and formal withdrawal from the school. Outstanding homework and tuition balances will cause the issuance of final grades to be delayed until submitted/paid.
Financial assistance is not available at this time except for resources offered by your local church. However, tuition payment plans are available as stated above. See the Site Director or Academic Dean. All requests and payment plan options are to be in writing and signed by the Site Director, Administrative Dean and the Student. Final grades will not be issued if the tuition balance is not paid according to the payment plan.
